Description
This picture was originally designed to be used as a cushion or footstool cover, or perhaps as a decorative vignette inserted into the top of a wooden box for storing precious objects. Executed entirely in cross stitch, its most prominent characters are a large squirrel on its haunches holding an acorn, and a crouching rabbit. Above them is a virtual explosion of colorful flora, intricately shaded. The cover model was stitched over two threads on 36-count linen and measures approximately 13 1/2″ x 16″. The piece is recommended for any skill level. Thanks to Elizabeth Keller for allowing TSL to reproduce the needlework from her private collection. As the name on the original was too faded to read, we have dedicated it to her. The cover model was stitched over two threads on 36-count linen and measures approximately 13 1/2″ x 16″.
