Description
The wooden Koma is a square-ended wooden spool used to maintain tension with Japanese/Japan threads and beads.
The metallic thread is wound onto the spool. If the embroidery is to be worked by sewing down two strands of Japan thread down at the same time then the Japan thread can be wrapped onto the spool double or two separate spools can be used with a single strand of thread on each spool as it is easier to keep the two strands at an even tension as it is sewn down.
Handmade in Dunedin with differing woods.
Sold in pairs.
