Size 9 3/4 x 7 1/2ins (25 x 19cms). Stitch count 156 x 121. Skill level Beginner. Marking samplers were worked by young girls to show their proficiency at needlework. The finished samplers would be shown to prospective employers as proof of their ability to mark household linen. The model shown is worked on white 32 count Belfast linen. Because it is a charted design however, it can be worked on any evenweave fabric of your choice.It also looks wonderful in dark navy on unbleached linen.
