Description
Beth tells us “It has been my honor to reproduce this beautiful sampler for my local Museum. We have not been able to uncover for certain, the true identity of Mary Pearson, but we do know that her sampler was handed down through one family for at least a few generations.
This sampler is not for beginners, unless they be a bit fearless. While the border and upper portion is worked with cross stitches over two, the lower scenic section has a good deal of over one stitching and some interesting specialty thread effects. I did my best to include very detailed instructions, but my feeling is that this pattern is for the sampler lovers amongst us who are willing to put in a little more effort than usual. Personally, it was the pink house and windowpane pattern on the lady’s dress that drew me in, not to mention that wonderful twisted-thread snake on the Tree of Life.”
This full size book contains detailed charts as well as showing photos of the over-one areas in the antique and the stitched model to help you see the specialty stitches.
The Stitch Count is 262 W x 427 H.
Model was stitched on 40 count Cream Newcastle linen from Zweigart and stitched with DMC Cotton floss.
