Description
A Sampler from Holland. This is a reproduction of a Dutch sampler dated 1839. The original has been embroidered with thick woollen threads on soft, approximately 32 count fabric. The sampler is entirely worked in cross stitch over two threads. Using two strands of cotton. The model was stitched on 35 count hand dyed Cocoa linen from Weeks Dye Works using a combination of hand dyed and DMC cotton floss. A DMC number is listed for those colours that did not have a good match between original wool colours and hand-dyed threads. The stitch count is 257 W x 237 H.
