Here’s Love Never Fails, Barbara Ana Designs elaborate cross stitch design in the manner of an antique wedding sampler.
The centerpiece is an ornamental heart with a verse from the bible:
“Love is patient, Love is kind,
it always protects, always trusts, always perseveres,
Love never fails”Â
On either sides of the design are man and a woman, their mid 19th century frocks exquisitely detailed. In stark contrast with the slightly austere characters, the heart, flowers, birds and text convey a poetic feel as if the young woman stitching the piece, maybe for her own wedding, was dreaming her future.
The beautiful contrasting colors of salmon and turquoise floss stand out against the more sober colors of the characters. The turquoise dotted birds are magnificient.
The piece is entirely cross stitch. A whole set of alphabets and numbers is included with the chart for stitching initials, dates and text of your choice.
