Mellor Laying tool’s are mainly used for goldwork, but can also be used for other embroidery techniques such as Japanese embroidery. Finished to a high quality, the Mellor is a Gold plated stainless steel tool.

Used in a similar way to a laying tool, this versitile littlle tool is a must for any embroidery box. The Mellor is flat and rounded at one end which can be used to push a thread into place, this end also has a hole to attach to a chatelaine or chain if required. The other end comes to a blunt point which is used in a variety of ways, including creating a larger plunging hole for thicker threads, to manipulate threads or wires gently into place, or simply to hold a thread out of the way.

The Mellor measures approximately 3 inches (7.4 cm) in length.
